Islander
‘Islander’ is a dinnerplate decorative-type dahlia known for its spectacular large, ruffled blooms that can reach 8–10 inches across. The petals are broad, twisted, and slightly incurved, giving the flower a lush, almost tropical look.
Its color is a striking blend of soft pink and coral, often with lighter, almost creamy highlights toward the petal tips. The blooms have a luminous, iridescent quality that makes them appear to glow in the garden or in arrangements.
Plants are tall and vigorous, producing strong stems that hold up the massive flowers well for a variety of uses—from cut flowers to show gardens. ‘Islander’ is admired for its romantic, exotic presence and remains a favorite among growers for its impressive form and vibrant, summery color.
